Insert your favourite octomom joke here.

The English language supposedly reached a million words on June 10th, 2009 at 10:22 am (Stratford-on-Avon Time) (via). I think this is kind of a ridiculous idea – words can’t be counted, for one thing, and “Web 2.0” has been around for like a decade, for another (and also contains two numerals despite the site’s assertion that n00b is unique in doing so) – but I like the lists of new words/phrases that get mentioned: cloud computing, defriend, Obamamania, octomom, shovel ready, slow food, slumdog, recessionista, wardrobe malfunction, and zombie banks.
